"markdown": "**Cats purr primarily to communicate contentment, but also for self-soothing, healing, and soliciting attention.** While often associated with happiness, this vocalization serves multiple complex functions in feline behavior and physiology.

* **Contentment and Bonding**: Cats purr when relaxed or receiving affection to signal safety and strengthen social bonds with humans or other cats.
* **Self-Soothing and Stress Relief**: Purring acts as a coping mechanism for anxiety, pain, or stress, such as during veterinary visits or after trauma, helping the cat calm itself.
* **Healing and Recovery**: The vibrations produced during purring (25–150 Hz) are believed to promote tissue regeneration, bone density, and pain relief, aiding in physical recovery.
* **Communication and Solicitation**: Kittens purr to locate and bond with their mothers, while adult cats may use a specific \"solicitation purr\" to demand food or attention from their owners.

The physical act of purring is triggered by neural signals that cause the laryngeal muscles to twitch rapidly, creating sound bursts every 30 to 40 milliseconds as the cat breathes in and out.",

Brave Search API questions.

Yes. The live demo above needs no account or API key. You can run each operation up to five times per day and inspect the same response shape your integration receives.

Each page returns 20 ranked results with the news, videos, discussions, FAQ, places, infobox, and AI answer Brave shows beside them, plus related queries. Send pagination.next_cursor for the next page; Brave serves six pages per query.

A web search that triggers an AI answer returns ai_answer.conversation_id. Send it to the AI answer endpoint for the answer in markdown, its cited sources, and follow-up questions.

Web, news, video, and image search take one of 38 countries. Web, news, and video search also take one of eight result languages, which move results mostly outside the US.

Place search returns up to 100 businesses, addresses, and areas within about 8 km of a point. Place details add contact details, opening hours, rating, photos, and reviews, and a separate endpoint returns the AI-written description.

Standings and league games cover football, basketball, baseball, ice hockey, and American football. Team games skip American football, and game details with events, lineups, and statistics cover football and American football.
